Here it is. The 2016 recap of the top stories on dinbits.com. January ($400) - Month of the Rage Quit

Mike Tyson lent his face to a bitcoin app, 

★ Localbitcoins trader took on Australian banks,

Mike Hearn "rage quit", post cash-out of course,

✦ ZCash announced itself,

✻ The HourlyHash scam was exposed,

Ross Ulbricht filed an appeal,

and bitcoin was pronounced dead.

February ($450) - Month of the Rising

★✻ Blockstream raised a pile of cash, 

the SEC filed suit seeking 10 million from GAW Miners,

Loanbase got hacked, 

BTCJam dropped the United States,

✦ the Chinese government (finally) realized MMM is a scam,

and Cryptsy got slapped with a class action lawsuit. 

March ($450) - Month of the Bandwagon

The Blockchain bandwagon blasted the media while experts hinted of skepticism,

the Umbiquity blockchain app for title/deeds happened, 

Cryptsy's CEO manufactured a bizarre story,

a New York Localbitcoins user was charged with unregistered MSB operation 

Coinbase allowed debit card purchases,

✦ Overstocks, T0 started taking shape,

Disney and Rootstock both entered the blockchain space,

Loanbase went down, Bitquick got hacked, Cryptsy went down; and,

April ($430) - Month of the Down 

Openbazaare happened,

May - ($500) Month of the Launch

✻ Craig Wright launched the "Satoshi" hoax,

Gemini launched Ether trading, 

✦ Purse launched Pre-orders

IBM released Cloudware; and,

Coinbase re-launched the Coinbase Exchange as GDAX.

June  ($700) - Month of the Return

Bitquick returned,

Bitoin returned to $700,

★ BitMain returned with the S9

Gox victims returned with claim appeals,

✻ Ethereum got hacked,

✦ WB21 allowed bitcoin deposits,

DAO got hacked,

Circe's bank account returned (raised money); and 

Microsoft started a blockchain project.

July ($650) - Month of the Half 

The halvening loomed; while the,  

the DAO burned; and,

Ethereum burned, while,

Freemit ended,

Bitmain bought Blocktrail,

★ Backpage SCAM sites appeared,

Ethereum forked and so did a civil war,

Miners attacked ETH1 spawning ETC,

✦Ethereum Classic (ETC) was born and it spiked,

13K was confiscated from a Coinbase user; and,

✻ Bitcoin Mattered.

August  ($650) - Month of the Bitfinex Hack

Coinbase added fees,

✦ ETC dominated,

★ Bitfinex suffered a mega-hack, 

R3 filed patents; and,

✻ Bitmain launched the R4.

September ($630) - Month of Re-branding

✻ Localbitcoins aided Brexits,

itBit re-branded as Paxos,

★ Loanbase re-branded as BitLendingClub,

✦ the PowerBTC scam was exposed,

Circle re-branded iOS App,

Paxful executives got arrested; and,

Roger Ver sued OKCoin.

October ($660) - Month of the Idiots

★ Backpage CEO was arrested for pimping

R3 CEO made the dumbest statement of 2016,

IBM leaked Walmart Claims,

✦✻ ZCash went live (the only highlight here),

and Hilary Clinton shot herself in the ass.

November ($700) Month of the Trump

*Localbitcoins hit 16 Million in weekly volume,

**Trump trumps Hilary,

Overstock announced trading schedule,

Coinbase got slapped by IRS (they also slapped back); and,

banks start bailing on R3. 

December ($975) - Month of Coin 

Coinbase was slapped with a Cryptsy user, and we do mean user not user(s), lawsuit,

Loanbase ended BitLendingClub and re-branded as nothing,

✦ San Francisco's SFMTA got bitch-slapped by ransom-ware,

Bitcoin passed $700

★ Bitcoin passed $800; and,

Bitcoin passed $900

Bitcoin has hit as high as $977 since the last pricing article was posted but it looks like it'll be 2017 and not 2016 when bitcoin hits $1000 again.
